Dr. Olu Asekun is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. As a committed alumnus, he singlehandedly donated to the Faculty; a world calss building housing two fullly equipped Moot Court Rooms complete with judges chambers and offices. At the dedication of the building named; OLU ASEKUN LAW RESOURCE CENTER which took place on the 21st  of June 2023, the Donor, expressed his desire for an annual nationwide moot court competition amongst law students to be hosted by the Faculty and sponsored by him. 

He is a renowned legal luminary and philanthropist who has dedicated his life to promoting legal excellence and access to justice.  His commitment to the development of young legal professionals is evident in his support for this competition. Dr. Olusegun Asekun started his legal career in 1994 when, together with his bosom friends, Barrister Femi Ogunbanwo and Barrister Labi Okusanya established OGUNBANWO, ASEKUN, OKUSANYA & Co in Lagos Nigeria. He subsequently relocated to the United states in 2002 with his wife, Simisola. Armed with the rugged training received at OOU, he took the New York Bar Exam three months after getting to the United States and passed it at first attempt. He immediately, within the same year 2002, as the founding partner, established THE LAW OFFICE OF OLU ASEKUN, PC located in Arlington Texas. He subsequently obtained a Doctorate Degree in Transformational Leadership.
