ABOUT THE OLU ASEKUN NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION
Preliminaries
Dr. Olu Asekun is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. As a committed alumnus, he single-handedly donated to the Faculty; a world class building housing two fully equipped Moot Court Rooms complete with judges chambers and offices. At the dedication of the building named; OLU ASEKUN LAW RESOURCE CENTER which took place on the 21st of June 2023, the Donor, expressed his desire for an annual nationwide moot court competition among law students to be hosted by the Faculty and sponsored by him.
The 2024 Edition: THE MAIDEN OLU ASEKUN NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION: ( OANMCC/1.0/ Maiden Edition)
The Faculty keyed into this aspiration and the Maiden OLU ASEKUN NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION held between 13th & 14th June 2024. Eight (8) Faculties of Law across the South West competed. It was huge a success with the Lagos State University emerging as the winner; while Olabisi Onabanjo University came up as the 1st Runner Up.

Expression of Interest
An expression of interest form for registration was circulated in March 2025 and at the
closure of registration deadline, a total of 21 applications were received from Faculties of Law across all the six geopolitical zones of the nation. Each Team was allotted a Unique ID Number.
The Hypothetical / Moot Facts
Four different set of Moot Facts on the same point of law on Immigration Law were circulated to all the 21 Teams and a deadline of 15th April 2025 was set for submission of Memorials . At the expiration of the deadline, 14 memorials were received.
